Once upon a time a servant of a Gentile long dead was walking in the field and saw his master sitting there. The servant wanted to run away, but his master called to him and said: "Come here and fear not."

The servant came to him and asked him: "What are you doing here?"

The master replied: "They are driving me all over this field because I took it away by force from its owner." And he mentioned the name. "Therefore go to my wife and tell her to return the field to him."

The servant said: "Your wife will not believe me."

He replied: "As a sign of the truth, let my wife come here tomorrow morning and she will find me sitting by the tree yonder."

The servant told his mistress, and she said: "Did he give you a sign?"

And the servant said: "Yes, tomorrow morning you will find him sitting under a tree."

All his people went to the field and found him sitting there. Then they went to the cemetery and opened his grave, but found it empty. So they returned the field to the man from whom it had been taken.
