Raba and Rab Zera were feasting together at the Purim meal. And as they were very merry, Raba attacked R. Zera and killed him.

In the morning, when he was sober, Raba felt great regret for having killed R. Zera, and he

prayed so long until R. Zera came to life again.

The next year on Purim day Raba came again to R. Zera and said: "Come, let us celebrate

again and take the Purim meal together."

R. Zera replied: "Miracles do not happen always that a person who dies should come back to life again."
